Louver Door Upgrades For A Master Bedroom That Is Accented With Pastel Colors

A set of brown closet doors that each contains a louvered panel may clash with soft pastel curtains and floor coverings that adorn your bedroom. Instead of swapping the doors out for another louvered style or one that is constructed out of a solid material, use some decorating techniques to update the entryway to your closet.

A Matte Paint Product And Stenciling Or A Border

Louvered sections include metal pieces that form a grid and that utilize hardware to secure the louvered sections or wooden slats that are secured via notched wood that is located along the sides of each wooden strip.

During the manufacturing process, louvered doors may be constructed via an assembly line, and many of the components used to secure the paneling may be pre-fabricated or universal in size and shape. Look at the craftsmanship of each door to determine if you can remove the louvered panels prior to painting the remaining materials that comprise each door.

If you cannot easily remove the louvered sections, the panels may be fixed ones that are designed to remain intact. Use masking tape to cover the edges of each panel. Decide if you would like to add fresh paint to each panel, providing the doors with a two-tone covering. If so, complete the application of the matte paint product, prior to the removal of the tape and the application of another paint product.

Use stenciling, to add small floral or animal pictures or a geometric paint design, across the top or sides of each door. Border wallpaper can also be used to enhance the closet entryway. Secure a strip of adhesive border paper across the top of each door.

One Solid Color And A Pair Of Curtains

Choose one flat or glossy paint variety and coat the entire door with it, including the louver panels. Select a color that won't overpower the muted tones that comprise the window and floor coverings. A neutral color of paint, such as a light beige or taupe or a soft pastel color like pale blue will beautify the doors.

If you do not want to block the louvered sections, but would like to add a pop of color around the doors, install a set of curtain poles above the doors. Purchase curtain panels that are similar to the ones covering your bedroom's windows. Tie back the curtains, which will allow the louvers to continue to regulate airflow and light penetration.
